Importance of human resources management team

The human resources management team is the core of a corporation. HR management suggests to the management team how to strategically administer people as business resources. These advices include: managing, recruiting, and hiring employees, coordinating employee benefits, suggesting employee training and development tactics (Bianca, 2018). HR professionals help the organization achieve its goals and guides the leaders to become better role models for the employees, as well as help employees with their conflicts and develop their skills at work. The main role of human resource management in businesses is to organize people so that they can effectively accomplish work activities. This requires viewing people as human assets, not costs to the organization (Bianca, 2018). Looking at people as assets is part of modern human resource management and human capital management and is considered ethical.
Some important competences that can be considered valuable to the Human Resource Management are the way they take care of the organization’s employees. The HR department is formed to be sort of like a liaison between the company and its employees, to make sure that workers are kept well-informed of relevant information and any decisions that may impact them (“What is the role of human resource management in an organization?”, 2018). As part of their main goal—of taking care of the employees—promoting a safe workplace comes under the realm of the HR department; here the HR team is responsible for ensuring an organization complies with all health and safety regulation, that employee safety preparation is kept up to date and that workplace safety accounts are maintained (“What is the role of human resource management in an organization?”, 2018). According to an article on the Poppulo website, the author explains “A key aspect of a HR department is to facilitate workplace training, to make sure adequate training is being provided but also to encourage the ongoing development of employees through relevant training courses or workshops. Promoting employee development can play a significant role in staff retention and engagement and is a vital part of how a successful organization operates” (“What is the role of human resource management in an organization?”, 2018).  The HR team core goal is to the create the greatest and most loyal employee ever to make the company flourish.
I feel like the core competencies that are mainly need are the follow up rituals with the employees from the HRM staff. Many companies are too involved in dealing with only conflicts from the workplace, trying to settle cases instead of doing follow ups that involve the people in opportunities and congratulatory categories. Being more observant and treating their staff as people not just assets is vital to the business’ upbringing. Human resource management is about increasing employee performance to their uppermost level corresponding to their position in the corporation. It is the obligation of the human resource management to provide respectable working conditions to the employees so that they may enjoy the workplace and the work environment, as well as motivate the employees (Bhattacharyya, 2017). Human Resource Management should systematize activities that help to know an employee at the personal and professional level. As stated by Ms. Bhattacharyya, in her article, “Well-planned employee relations will promote a healthy and balanced relation between the employee and the employer. It is the key for the organization to be successful” (Bhattacharyya, 2017).
I believe that depending on the organization’s HR management team, the outcomes can vary from great to okay. If the team works on improving their employee’s professionalism while encouraging and motiving the workers themselves; then the possibility would be viable. Some of these companies that don’t have that open-door policy where employees can come to confide in the HRM team to help with work-related issues, will not prosper and probably have lower employee performance due the amount of stress and lack of loyalty.

Example of a Self-Concept Case Study

Cultural Intelligence for Leaders (2012) defined self-concept as “the totality of complex, organized, and dynamic system of learned beliefs, attitudes and opinions that each person holds to be true about his/her personal existence” & the self-concept we hold to be true helps us form a “perception of who we are based on expectations from, and responses to, our social environment; stimulated by internal and external factors that can create intense emotional responses, impacting on our willingness to learn and our choice of action - guiding our behaviors” (p. 127). In the case (WA, 2018) Jack is a 36-year-old leader within a major hospital who prides himself as a professional. In his work, he supports and helps each of his team members. In his personal life, he used to focus on eating healthy and exercising regularly. In the past year, his focus on healthy living declined because of professional responsibilities. As a consequence, his state of health deteriorated to a point that hi

DeBeers - the diamond trading company

PESTEL analysis Political aspect: In 1994 the DeBeers operation was prohibited in the United States territory because of antitrust legislation. These facts complicate the DeBeers operation and shake the whole company. Economic aspect: Although in 1990s DeBeers ruled the whole industry, after several events such as Soviet Union collapse and Alrosa’s appearing, DeBeers lost its control over the market. In addition, Canada’s appearing in the diamond market forced DeBeers to hold back a large portion of its diamonds from the market and purchase much of the excess supply from these producing countries often at inflated prices (McAdams, Reavis, 2008, p.7). Social aspect: In the mid-1990, Angola, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Democratic Republic Congo were outflanked by rebel forces opposed to the government. DeBeers sponsored this military conflict by “blood diamonds” purchasing. Technological aspect: The main threat is the synthetic diamonds grown is the lab-conditions. This tec

Case Study 2: Young, Confident, and Moving too Fast

Introduction             The increasing complexities of organizations as it grows and as some take the path of globalization resulted in diversity and attracted many forms of cultural differences. Hence, the need to manage these cultural differences existing within organizations has been increasingly becoming necessary. This is particularly true for managers who may be caught in between various individual culture that each of its subordinates is accustomed to. Managing cultural differences requires what they called cultural intelligence (CQ). Broadly speaking, CQ is the ability to cut across various cultural contexts such as ethnic, generational, or organizational cultures (Livermore, 2011, p. 5). In this paper, the generational cultural differences between Joanne, the manager, and Julia, the newly hired subordinate will be discussed. To give a brief background, Julia is a confident, fast learner, and passionate young woman who wants to do more in her job without being micromanaged
